How To Know If You Ruined Your Life

You may have already and not even realized it.

It’s difficult to ascertain with any certainty if your life is ruined as it’s happening. It’s like trying to gauge if you had a good time at a party before it’s over. You could be having a blast, but then at the end, the drunk girl stabs you with a fork and pukes in your mouth as you’re screaming.

Granted, things are constantly in flux, and you never know when your luck will change, but you can’t count on fortune to come to your rescue. There’s a good chance that you have already irrevocably ruined your life. You have to know how to read the signs.

It all depends on your expectations. If you have none, then your life is bulletproof. No matter what happens, you’ll never be disappointed. But that’s an impossible task for most of us. Most people have hopes, dreams, and aspirations, and disappointment is inevitable when they don’t come to fruition.

Here are a few ways that your life might already be ruined:

You’re Broke

This one is simple enough to fix, make more money. Well, let’s take a look at your history, shall we?

If you don’t have a college degree, which only 35% of Americans have, your earning potential over your life is greatly diminished. Unless you know how to code at an expert level or are one of the unicorns that creates the next Facebook, you can bet that your earnings will stay where they are.

The chances are that your dreams of being rich are only dreams, and you’ll be scraping by for the rest of your life. With inflation, your money is worth less than it was five years ago, and there are no signs of slowing down.

No one wants to be the elderly person still busting their ass at some job, unable to retire. Most people never dip their toes in the stock market as that was never something they taught us in school. Likely, your money isn’t working for you, and you’re living paycheck to paycheck.

From a financial standpoint, you ruined your life the second you got into the workforce and doomed yourself to an existence of servitude.
