It’s difficult to ascertain with any certainty if your life is ruined as it’s happening. It’s like trying to gauge if you had a good time at a party before it’s over. You could be having a blast, but then at the end, the drunk girl stabs you with a fork and pukes in your mouth as you’re screaming.

Granted, things are constantly in flux, and you never know when your luck will change, but you can’t count on fortune to come to your rescue. There’s a good chance that you have already irrevocably ruined your life. You have to know how to read the signs.

It all depends on your expectations. If you have none, then your life is bulletproof. No matter what happens, you’ll never be disappointed. But that’s an impossible task for most of us. Most people have hopes, dreams, and aspirations, and disappointment is inevitable when they don’t come to fruition.
